Viton also provides excellent sealing performance in demanding applications exposed to various aggressive acids over a wide temperature range. Available in a full range of standard thicknesses and roll sizes, we can also supply Viton sheeting in cut lengths, strips, pads, custom-cut profiles and fabricated sleeves to meet your specific application requirements.
FKM rubber sheets are made fromfluorocarbon rubber (FKM), a high-performancefluoroelastomer known for exceptional resistance to hydrocarbons, chemicals, and high temperatures. They are widely used in demanding industries such as automotive, aerospace, and chemical processing for applications like gaskets, seals, and linings due to their durability and reliability in aggressive environments.
FKM sheets exhibit outstanding heat resistance, with continuous service temperatures up to 215°C (and intermittent exposure to 300°C), along with excellent resistance to oils, acids, and ozone. Mechanical properties typically include a tensile strength of ≥7 MPa (with higher grades reaching ≥9 MPa), hardness around 70±5 Shore A, and elongation at break of 180%. They also demonstrate goodcompression set resistance andabrasion resistance, though they are not recommended for environments with ketones or certain polar solvents.
Common applications and availability: These sheets are used in automotive fuel systems (includingbio-diesel transport),aerospace components, and chemical processing equipment due to their stability under harsh conditions. They are available in various forms, including rolls or sheets with standard widths up to 2 meters and thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 100 mm. Suppliers offer customization for specific requirements such as color (commonly black) and reinforcement (e.g., with fabric inserts).
